At The Light Outreach
Our mission is to provide a home for the forgotten children of Africa, brightening their futures with education, support and family.
What We Do
Our programs are put together to provide our children with the best quality of life and education for the future. As we target the most at-risk areas, many of the children we help come from challenging backgrounds. Therefore we take them under our wing in order to look after all their needs and welcome them into our family with love, whilst actively working to mend any broken homes.
Why We Do It
We live by the teachings of the Bible, allowing it to permeate everything we do. One of our guiding verses is Matthew 5:16 - "In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." To us, this means that if we shine our light on others and help grow their light then the whole world will become a brighter place through our works. With this belief as our foundation, we commit to making sure all our children have a roof over their heads, food in their bellies and a good education.
Our History
Founded in 1996 on the streets of London, The Light Outreach was nothing but a young caring woman who wanted to help the homeless by doing anything she could. Since then our light has grown, now reaching across the globe to Ghana where "Mama Ellen", as the kids like to call her, has been able to develop crucially beneficial programs. Along with the help of the Outreach team, Mama Ellen has been able to take in countless children providing a home, education and a sense of family that was missing from their lives.
